Training Program in Research Ethics in the Americas

Description:
This training program in research ethics takes place at FLACSO (Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales--Latin American University of Social Sciences) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The co-Principal Directors are Dr. Ruth Macklin, at Einstein, and Dr. Florencia Luna, at FLACSO. The program enrolls a small group of professionals each year from health-related fields in Latin America. The aim is to assist in building capacity of researchers and members of research review committees in the ethical aspects of research with human beings. The program has distance-learning courses and an annual seminar free of charge to the public. The trainees take formal courses, develop a practical project in research ethics, and write a paper under the guidance of the faculty.
